| | TV "MOVIES OF THE WEEK" This month we are opening another side of the vault to present thrills, chills and terror with a set of highly sought after made-for-television favorites for their very first DVD release. First developed as occasional events during the late '60s, the concept of the TV movie came into its own when ABC began airing the "Movie of the Week", providing a new 'feature film' in a 90 minute time slot every Tuesday evening. Although the concept took off like wildfire and spread to all three networks, ABC remained the most prolific in this area, commissioning some of the most memorable offerings of the decade. The network specifically sought to present tales of terror and suspense aimed at younger audiences. Long unavailable, many of these telefilms became unforgettable to the fans who first saw their original broadcasts. Now, three of the most famous are finally available for purchase: The 1973 haunted house saga DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK stars Jim Hutton and Kim Darby. Emmy-winning teen actor Scott Jacoby stars as the juvenile murderer known as BAD RONALD (1974). Connie Sellecca stars as the irresistible beauty who falls prey to hidden sea monsters in the 1978 undersea thriller THE BERMUDA DEPTHS. Starting with this trio of terror favorites, fans can look for new TV movie release each month through the Warner Archive Collection.

George Segal is a man on the run in the 1974 screen adaptation of Michael Crichton's best-selling novel THE TERMINAL MAN. Crichton and his brother Douglas used the pseudonym "Michael Douglas" to write the novel which became the basis for Paul Williams' 1972 drug-caper cult fave DEALING...OR THE BERKELEY-TO-BOSTON FORTY BRICK BLUES.
