Republican candidate may reveal race after leaving cybersex chat

Allentown mayoral hope Tony Phillips is considering bowing out of the race after a flirtatious-turned-salacious exchanges between him and a married woman alleged on Facebook page, his campaign was made public. The cybersex chat (cyber sex chat) has been with the departure of campaign Phillips' manager, Ken Matthews, has been conducted behind the heads of almost all public relations efforts of Phillips. Phillips said he believes the woman - or perhaps even a man - set him to embarrass himself. ''That's my impression,''he said. Regardless, the departure of a key campaign figure with the disclosure of the free cyber sex chat can overcome a lot through the election in November in connection with, Phillips said on Tuesday. ''I just don't know how damning this is, so I will have to wait and see,'' Phillips said when asked if he plans to continue the campaign in light of recent events. ''I just don't know. I can't say at this juncture,'' said Phillips, a former city police officer who was elected to City Council as a Democrat in 2005.
