DVD vendor announces top rentalsRedbox, an automated DVD rental provider located at groceries, drug stores and convenience stores, announced its top DVD rentals of 2009 out of 350 million sales.

The winner:

“Paul Blart: Mall Cop”(right) topped the list as the most-rented movie, logging more than 4.5 million Redbox rentals, the company said.

Other big sellers included: “The Proposal,” “Taken,” “Gran Torino” and “Knowing.”

Other popular DVDs included:

Top adrenaline rush — “Taken,” “Knowing,” “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “Obsessed” and “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.”

Top chick flicks — “The Proposal,” “Bride Wars,” “He’s Just Not That Into You,” “17 Again” and “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.”

Top family fun: “Bedtime Stories,” “Bolt,” “Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” “Up” and “Hotel for Dogs.”
