HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc

These two formats are indeed fantastic, but as everyone knows Blu-ray won (I suppose it won because of archiving more data on the disc).

Each one has its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

Blu-ray
- Does 1080p on every video, except some like Japanese animation only up to 1080i.
- It can occupy up to 50GB.
- It's scratch resistant, so it won't get scratched easily (people should take care of it anyway)
- It's used for all kinds of HD physical media now, that is, games (PS3), music, movies and series.
- The prices of the Blu-ray Disc movies/series/games/etc are very affordable and so are the Blu-ray Players too.
- Normally the Blu-ray Disc movies come with two other media discs, a DVD and a Digital Copy.

Disadvantages:

Blu-ray
- Almost every Blu-ray Disc is region locked so be sure to buy from the right region.
- It may need to connect to the internet for an update in order to work properly.
- Like HD-DVD, Blu-ray suffers the same, some videos are upscaled or bad transfers.

Now to HD-DVD...

Advantages:

HD-DVD
- All HD-DVD discs are free region.
- Do not need to connect for any updates.
- The cases are red-transparent which in my imo they look better than the Blu-ray cases.
- The price of the HD-DVD discs are really cheap and they're in full HD (1080p).

Disadvantages:

HD-DVD
- The format HD-DVD has died in the battle versus Blu-ray
- Like HD-DVD, Blu-ray suffers the same, some videos are upscaled or bad transfers.
- HD-DVD format did not live too long and so not many titles were transfered to HD-DVD, about less than 1000 were, lets say 600 (more or less).

So as you can see, they're both awesome. For any comparisons use Google, some people may degrade the real quality of these in comparison, so the best would be to own them two.
